40mm Steel Chronograph Gift
Bought this for my brother's retirement. He loves the hefty steel bracelet and black-and-silver dial, though he joked that the subdial numerals and date window are a little small without his reading glasses.

The watch
Bersigar Allegro 1707 Silver Black Chronograph: a tapisserie textured obsidian black-dial integrated-bracelet watch in a 40mm solid 316L stainless steel case, driven by a Seiko VK63 meca-quartz chronograph movement. It brings 100m water resistance and a sapphire crystal. We place it at Hour III (Integrated Sport) of the Boardroom season, for anyone who wants one watch for work and leisure.
BERSIGAR Allegro 1707: Silver Black Chronograph Edition
The BERSIGAR Allegro 1707 Silver Black fuses iconic octagonal integrated-bracelet architecture with classic "reverse panda" chronograph design. Defined by a sharp 40mm angular case with a slim 11.2mm profile, an eight-screw geometric bezel, an integrated tapering steel bracelet, and an obsidian black "tapisserie" dial accented by high-contrast silver sub-registers, this timepiece delivers an authoritative luxury sports aesthetic engineered for precision timing.
Powered by the Seiko Japanese VK63 meca-quartz movement, the caliber pairs quartz timing precision with a mechanical chronograph module that provides crisp pusher engagement and an instantaneous flyback central chronograph seconds reset. The black dial showcases an embossed micro-check tapisserie grid, applied polished baton indices with strong luminous fill, luminous hands, a date aperture at 4:30, and three sunken silver sub-registers dedicated to 60-minute elapsed timing, continuous running seconds, and a 24-hour display. Machined from solid 316L brushed and polished stainless steel, the watch features an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, classic round pump pushers, a comfort folding deployant mechanism, and a threaded screw-down crown delivering 10 BAR (100M) water resistance.

Bought this for my brother's retirement. He loves the hefty steel bracelet and black-and-silver dial, though he joked that the subdial numerals and date window are a little small without his reading glasses.
As someone who takes a weekend car to the track outside Salt Lake, I love a reverse-panda chronograph. The pushers on this VK63 have a crisp click, the chrono hand sweeps smoothly, and the instant flyback reset is spot on.
Looks sharp with a grey sport coat or a polo during software client meetings. The contrast between the black waffle dial and silver subdials makes it easy to read at a glance.
Thank you, Sam! The black tapisserie and silver subdial contrast really does work just as well with a blazer as it does casually. Enjoy it!
Bought this for my husband's birthday. He is super picky about chronographs and hates when the sub-registers look cheap, but he loved the silver subdials against the black textured face and wears it to the office constantly.
Took three links out of the solid 316L bracelet to fit my wrist and the integrated end-links hug the wrist with no gap. The brushed steel links catch cockpit lighting nicely and balance the weight of the 40mm head.
Great daily watch for commuting into Manhattan from Hoboken. Because it uses the meca-quartz movement, the 40mm case stays thin enough to slide under my dress shirt cuffs while the reverse-panda subdials still give it a sporty presence.
Appreciate the kind words, Brett! Having chronograph functionality in a cuff-friendly profile is one of the best perks of the Allegro 1707.
I enjoy the Seiko VK63 meca-quartz hybrid caliber because you get quartz accuracy alongside a 1/5-second mechanical sweep and instant zero-reset snap on the chrono hand. The 40mm case and integrated bracelet sit well on my wrist, and the silver sub-registers contrast nicely against the black tapisserie dial. The internal mechanism has a slight audible sound when clicking the pushers in a quiet room, which is normal.
Thanks for the detailed review, Miles! The VK63 meca-quartz heart-cam reset gives that tactile mechanical click and instant snap-back that chronograph fans love. Enjoy wearing it!
