Picked this up for my son when he finished his master's degree. He wanted a steel sport chronograph that was not gigantic on his wrist, and this 40mm blue dial version fit the bill. He has worn it every day since graduation.
As someone who rotates through several Seiko-powered microbrands, the VK63 hybrid in this 40mm integrated case is a fun grab-and-go piece. You get quartz accuracy within a second a month plus the mechanical cam-actuated chronograph reset. The polished fixed bezel and brushed case flanks are cleanly separated, and 100m water resistance means it survives beach afternoons.
At 225 dollars I half expected hollow links or a mineral crystal, so I was pleasantly surprised when I unboxed this. The brushed 316L bracelet feels dense and well-machined, the sapphire crystal is genuine, and the silver subdials have clean concentric texturing.
Sized it for my wrist in five minutes. Great sunburst blue dial and snappy chrono.
Wore this to two commercial bid meetings this week with a grey suit. The 40mm integrated case slides under a button cuff easily and the blue dial with silver subdials looks much pricier than 225 dollars. The butterfly clasp lacks half-links so the fit gets slightly snug in humid weather.
Love the contrast of the three silver sub-registers against the sunburst blue dial. Took it out to a weekend autocross event and used the VK63 stopwatch all morning. The pushers have a firm mechanical click and the 24-hour subdial is handy.
I have half a dozen mechanical chronographs in my watch box, but I grabbed this Terrasot 1761 for the Seiko VK63 meca-quartz caliber and the blue-and-silver reverse panda layout. The 40mm case wears true to size on my 7-inch wrist, and the chronograph hand snaps back to zero instantaneously. Sapphire crystal has decent AR coating. My only gripe is that the date window at 4:30 is a little small without my reading glasses.

The Seiko VK63 meca-quartz hybrid gives you crisp pusher feedback and a five-beat-per-second chrono sweep without automatic thickness. Dial alignment on the triple silver subdials is dead on. The watch has some real heft to it in solid 316L steel that took a couple days to get used to.
