Love the vintage aviation look of the 42mm case and the small-seconds sub-register at six. The fumé blue dial catches light nicely on my wrist. Shipping carrier delayed the box by two days, though the watch itself is great.
No play in the crown stem, clean brushing on the 42mm 316L steel case, and clear anti-reflective coating on the sapphire glass. The 9020 automatic has been steady and reliable on my 7.5-inch wrist.

Finding a Japanese 9020 automatic movement under $250 is rare enough, and pairing it with a sapphire crystal and fixed sapphire bezel makes this Polaris 1790 a strong value in my collection. The 28,800 bph sweep on the small-seconds register at 6 o'clock is smooth, and the fumé blue dial transitions nicely from bright navy in the center to dark midnight at the flange. Wears comfortably on my wrist.
Bought this for my brother when he passed the bar exam. The smoked fumé blue dial and small-seconds subdial look sharp in a courtroom, and he was pumped to get a real automatic.

The Japanese 9020 movement has kept within +6 seconds a day since arriving, and the fixed sapphire bezel lines up cleanly with the case. Only downside is the blue leather strap was pretty stiff for the first 3-4 days before breaking in.
