Most of my weekend watches are pilot chronographs, so I wanted a clean automatic for regional flights and board meetings. The Seiko NH36A day-date sets quickly after landing and the 40mm case feels solid on my wrist.
Wore it on the factory 316L steel bracelet for a week after taking out two links for my 7-inch wrist, then tried it on a dark green Saffiano leather strap. That green strap pulls out the green Roman numerals nicely.
I've always liked the slate grey and green Roman numeral dial layout, and this 40mm execution hits the right notes. The radial sunburst brushing on the grey dial shifts nicely in sunlight, and the green print on the numerals is sharp with zero bleed under a loupe. Inside, the Seiko NH36A automatic hacks and winds smoothly, holding +4 seconds a day on my wrist.
