Groomsman gift for my brother
Bought this for my brother who was best man at my wedding. He wanted a steel automatic that worked with both a suit and jeans, and the silver waffle dial with warm accents was a total hit.
The watch
Built around a silver dial, the Tissot PRX 40mm Powermatic 80 pairs a 40mm case with a Powermatic 80 automatic movement. Highlights include 100m water resistance and a sapphire crystal. It belongs to Hour III, Integrated Sport, in our Boardroom season: a natural choice for the office-to-dinner day.
The silver-dial PRX is the most classically dressy of the line. A bright opaline dial with applied polished indexes sits inside the slim tonneau case, and the integrated steel bracelet carries the mirror-and-brushed finishing seamlessly around the wrist.
Power comes from the Swiss-made Powermatic 80 automatic, which winds itself from your everyday motion and holds close to 80 hours of reserve. The see-through caseback lets you watch the rotor turn.
At 40mm it wears slim and refined, comfortable under a shirt cuff and dressy enough for formal wear. Sapphire crystal keeps the dial scratch-free and 100m (10 ATM) of water resistance covers swimming and daily splashes.
For the buyer who wants a light, luminous dial with timeless appeal. The silver PRX leans elegant, making it an easy match for tailoring while still holding its own on the weekend.
New, boxed and warrantied — ships within the US.
Good to know
It runs on a Powermatic 80 automatic movement. It winds itself from the motion of your wrist, so there is no battery to replace.
It is rated to 100 meters, 10 ATM, which comfortably handles hand washing, rain, and swimming. Make sure the crown is pushed in fully, avoid pressing it underwater, and keep it away from hot showers, saunas, and steam.
The case measures 40mm — a versatile size that suits most wrists (roughly 15.5-19 cm / 6.1-7.5 in). Our watch size guide (/pages/watch-size-guide) explains how to measure your wrist.
It has a silver dial, under a sapphire crystal.
That is normal for an automatic once the reserve runs down. Just wear it again or wind the crown gently for about 20 to 30 turns, then reset the time and date and it will keep running.
The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal, among the hardest materials in watchmaking. It strongly resists everyday scratches and keeps the dial looking clear for years.
On the ChronoSeasons dial it sits at Hour III — Integrated Sport, part of the Boardroom season, and suits the office-to-dinner day and smart-casual weekends.
Yes. It is a brand-new, authentic Swiss Made Tissot delivered with its box and papers, backed by a 2-year international warranty. Returns are welcome in line with our store policy.

Bracelet articulation is super smooth on my 7.5-inch wrist. Keeps dead-on time.
Appreciate the review, Tom! Glad you're loving the bracelet comfort and accuracy.
The T137.407.21.031.00 is arguably the most versatile colorway in the PRX Powermatic 80 lineup. The silver-grey tapisserie dial blends into the brushed 40mm steel case, while the rose-gilt indices and hands add just enough warmth. At 10.9mm thick it sits flat on my wrist, and the C07.111 caliber is running at +2 seconds per day.
Took this up to Lake Huron for a long weekend and wore it swimming and out to dinner afterward. Having 100m water resistance and sapphire glass on a dressy integrated-bracelet watch means you never have to take it off around the water.
Sharp looking automatic. Fits my wrist nicely after removing three links.
With 100m water resistance and a solid steel bracelet, I didn't hesitate to wear this out on the boat in Minnesota last weekend. Legibility in bright sun is great. The hidden butterfly clasp release was a little stiff out of the box before working it a few times.
Wore this to the office all week and out for drinks Friday. The silver waffle dial with warm indices looks super clean in natural light, though the butterfly clasp could use a micro-adjustment hole on warmer afternoons.
Thanks for the review, Patrick! Glad the silver-dial PRX is serving you well from the office to the weekend.
I wasn't sure if a silver dial on a steel bracelet would look washed out based on the website photos. In person the rose-gold-tone hands and hour markers give the waffle dial plenty of contrast, and the bracelet fits my wrist comfortably.
