Holds up great on the lake
Took this out fishing and swimming at Saylorville Lake twice already. The 100m water resistance and solid steel bracelet handle water without an issue, and the blue sapphire bezel is easy to read in bright sun.

Was skeptical about how good the finishing would be at this price, but the brushed steel case and anti-reflective sapphire crystal are very well done. The marine blue dial looks rich. Just note the crown threads are tight at first and take a firm push to catch.
Thanks for the review, Austin! Those crown threads will smooth out slightly after a few cycles while keeping the 100m seal tight.
I usually stick to department store brands, so ordering a watch online for $245 made me hesitant. Once I held it, the solid 316L steel weight and sapphire crystal won me over. Only knock is the clasp doesn't have half-links, making it slightly snug in humidity.
Glad the quality won you over in person, Robert! Thanks for the feedback on half-links for humid Florida days.
The deep marine blue dial pairs well with navy and grey suits when I am in the office, and the 100m rating means I can wear it down at the docks too. My only critique is the clasp could use an extra micro-adjustment hole for hot afternoons.
Thanks for sharing that, Nicholas! Happy it transitions well between the office and the docks, and we'll pass your clasp note to our hardware team.
Bought the Blue Steel edition for my son's college graduation last month. He wanted something substantial in stainless steel with a blue face, and he was grinning ear to ear when he opened the box.
Measured the case at 42mm across with clean machining on the 316L steel links. Dial legibility is high and the VD53 sub-registers line up properly on the markers. The watch has some real heft to it on my wrist that took a couple days to get used to.
I have a soft spot for blue dive chronographs and grabbed this 1713 for surveying work around the marinas. The 42mm case wears comfortably on my wrist, and the unidirectional sapphire bezel has a glossy depth that aluminum inserts cannot match. Inside, the Seiko VD53 quartz movement gives reliable stopwatch functionality and spot-on accuracy. Brushing on the 316L oyster-style links is clean for a sub-$250 piece.
