L'orologio
Informazioni su questo orologio
The Luminaire di Fraser & Co. è un orologio skeleton, mosso da un movimento automatico. Offre una produzione limitata, resistenza all’acqua fino a 100 m e vetro zaffiro.
I vetri zaffiro frontale e posteriore lasciano i meccanismi completamente in vista.
Comfort e resistenza all'acqua
A chi è rivolto

The openworked Miyota 8N24 gear train on the Blue edition has a cool mechanical instrument look, and the 100m water resistance is solid. Note that the crown threads are tight at first and take a firm push to catch.

Thanks for the feedback, D.! Those tight crown gaskets ensure the 100m water resistance rating and will smooth out nicely with use.

Impressive titanium finishing and 8N24 caliber
As a longtime collector, I appreciate how cleanly the Red accents frame the openworked Miyota 8N24 movement inside the brushed titanium case. You get 21 jewels, a 42-hour power reserve, and genuine 100m water resistance with sapphire glass on both sides. On my wrist, the low mass of titanium makes it far more wearable than steel skeletons.

Great Miyota 8N24 depth in titanium
Added the Blue Luminaire to my collection because I wanted a true full-bridge skeleton automatic in a titanium case rather than heavy steel. Watching the Miyota 8N24 mainspring barrel and escapement work through the front and rear sapphire crystals is mesmerizing, and it keeps within +7 sec/day on my wrist. I put a butterfly deployant clasp on the leather strap, though without half-step adjustments it feels slightly snug in humid weather.

Thanks for sharing your collector perspective, Peter! Watching the 8N24 escapement through dual sapphire never gets old.

Survives marina days in style
Most skeleton watches have 30m splash resistance and have to stay in the cabin when I am surveying boats. With 100m water resistance, sapphire front and back, and the FKM rubber option, this Rose Gold titanium Luminaire handles water and sun easily.

Titanium Miyota 8N24 Red Skeleton
I was hesitant to spend 580 dollars on a microbrand skeleton watch online, worried it might feel flashy or fragile. Once I felt the featherlight titanium case, dual sapphire crystals, and supple strap on the Red edition, I was completely sold.

Titanium Skeleton Done Right
Machining a skeleton watch out of titanium with 100m water resistance and dual sapphire crystals is a smart engineering move by Fraser & Co. The Blue variant showcases the Japanese Miyota 8N24 automatic train from both front and back, and on my 6.75-inch wrist the titanium case feels practically weightless. Accuracy is holding around +9 seconds a day. Swapping the tight spring bar pins took 15-20 minutes with stubborn pins.

Appreciate the engineering breakdown, Jeffrey! Combining grade titanium with the openworked Miyota 8N24 and 100m sealing was a labor of love for our team.

FKM Rubber And Leather
Being able to switch the Rose Gold Luminaire between the Italian top-grain leather strap for office days and the FKM rubber strap for humid weekends is a huge plus. The minute track markings are a little small without my reading glasses.

Lightweight titanium with 100m rating
Took the Red Luminaire up to Lake Tahoe for the weekend and kept it on the FKM rubber strap for boating and swimming. Having 100m water resistance and a titanium case on a skeleton automatic is awesome.

Lake Tahoe is a great spot to put that 100m rating and FKM rubber strap to work, Brian! Glad you are enjoying the Red Luminaire.

The exposed Miyota 8N24 automatic skeleton bridgework on the Blue Luminaire has the mechanical instrument feel I love in vintage gauges and track timers. The titanium case is super light on my wrist. Note that the rotor has a slight audible whir in a dead-quiet room.
Edward T.·Bethesda, MD, US··Blu
CSRisposta di ChronoSeasons
Thanks for the review, Edward! That free-spinning unidirectional rotor sound is a normal hallmark of the Miyota 8N24 skeleton caliber. Enjoy the Blue Luminaire!
