Chaque Captain est dotée d’un boîtier de 38 mm, d’un verre saphir, d’index appliqués, d’un bracelet en cuir haut de gamme fabriqué aux États-Unis et du mouvement automatique Miyota 9039, réglé en interne par Bernhardt.
Avec une épaisseur de seulement 9,55 mm et une distance compacte de 45 mm entre les cornes, la Captain a été conçue dans un souci de proportions. Bought this for my younger brother's 40th birthday. He has a collection of black and blue divers, so the dark purple guilloche dial on the steel bracelet gave him something totally different for dressy nights.

I usually gravitate toward aviation chronographs with busy sub-registers, but this clean 28,800 bph sweep caught my eye. The purple guilloche is understated and classy. My only wish is that the butterfly clasp had half-links, as the bracelet fit gets slightly snug on humid Tennessee afternoons.

Bernhardt regulating the Miyota 9039 in-house makes a real difference; I tracked it against NIST time in Fort Collins for a week and saw less than 2 seconds of daily drift. The sapphire crystal is clear and the deep purple guilloche dial has serious depth on the steel bracelet.
Even on an 8" wrist, a classic dress watch should sit trim rather than sprawling like a dinner plate. The 38mm case and 45mm lug-to-lug wear with vintage proportions, and the 9.55mm thickness is only possible because of the thin Miyota 9039 caliber. Mine has held +4 sec/day over ten days. The dark purple guilloche stamping is crisp under a loupe and pairs nicely with the brown American leather.
I wear button-downs to project review meetings and wanted something less boring than black or white. Under office lighting the dial reads almost charcoal, then shifts to deep aubergine by a window. The 9.55mm case clears my cuffs easily.
