The watch
About this watch
Bristol 747 Jumbo Jet Tribute Chronograph: a black-dial chronograph in a 44mm 316L stainless steel case, driven by a Swiss quartz chronograph movement (Caliber 5021.D). It brings original airframe material from the aircraft it honours set into the caseback, a production run limited to 1986 pieces and 50m water resistance. On the ChronoSeasons dial it sits at Hour V — Chronograph, part of the Expedition season — and suits motorsport fans and aviation enthusiasts.
This modern timepiece features a carefully crafted stainless steel case and displays an original artifact from a KLM 747 airframe. The movement is a precision Swiss made chronograph with a Super-LumiNova dial protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. This design is limited to 1986 units in honor of the year KLM 747 Tail # PH-BUW entered service. The 747 was the original "Jumbo Jet" and has been considered the "queen of the skies" since it first entered service with Pan American Airlines in 1970. Now fading from passenger service, this aircraft holds a special place in the hearts of the countless passengers and crew that have flown aboard this icon.

Questions & answers
What movement powers the Bristol 747 Jumbo Jet Tribute Chronograph?
It runs on a Swiss quartz chronograph caliber 5021.D, 10 Jewels. Quartz keeps it accurate and low-maintenance; the battery simply needs replacing every few years.
Can I swim with the Bristol 747 Jumbo Jet Tribute Chronograph?
Only splashes. It is rated to 50m (5 ATM), which handles rain and hand-washing, but it is not intended for swimming or submersion.
Will the Bristol 747 Jumbo Jet Tribute Chronograph fit my wrist?
The case measures 44mm — a bold size that suits larger wrists (roughly 17.5 cm / 6.9 in and up). Our watch size guide (/pages/watch-size-guide) explains how to measure your wrist.
What is set into the caseback of the Bristol 747 Jumbo Jet Tribute Chronograph?
The caseback holds a genuine piece of KLM 747 airframe, visible through the back of the case — a direct link to the aircraft the watch honours.
Is the Bristol 747 Jumbo Jet Tribute Chronograph a limited edition?
Yes. Production is limited to 1986 pieces, so once the run sells out it will not be repeated.

Most quartz chronographs at this price use basic zero-jewel movements, so seeing the 10-jewel Swiss Caliber 5021.D inside this Bristol 747 tribute is a big plus. The 44mm brushed and polished 316L stainless steel case has clean bevels, the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is crystal clear, and the embedded 747 airframe aluminum in the caseback (mine is from the 1986-piece run) makes it a genuine conversation piece in my watch box.

44mm 747 Tribute Caliber 5021.D
Love the aviation instrument layout on the black dial and the Swiss Ronda 5021.D 10-jewel chronograph movement. The sub-registers are clean and easy to read on my wrist, and the piece of real 747 fuselage in the caseback is a great touch.

Bought this 747 Jumbo Jet tribute for my father's 75th birthday. He retired as an airline captain after decades on Boeing widebodies, and when he flipped the case over and saw the original 747 airframe relic and limited 1986 numbering, he was grinning ear to ear.

queen of the skies
I flew the 747-400 across the Pacific out of Honolulu for twelve years before moving into chief pilot admin work. This 44mm steel chronograph looks sharp with a uniform shirt or blazer, and the actual 747 airframe insert on the back means a lot.

As a mechanical engineer who grew up watching Queen of the Skies 747s land, having genuine 747 airframe metal set into the caseback makes this watch special. The 10-jewel Swiss Caliber 5021.D chronograph pushers have a crisp snap, and the 44mm steel case sits great on my wrist.
