Bought this for my husband
After seeing how much my husband loved his A-10 watch, I got him this Spitfire R6753 chronograph for his birthday. He adores WWII RAF history and wears the brown leather and brushed steel combo constantly.
The watch
Bristol Spitfire R6753 Tribute Chronograph: a black-dial chronograph in a 44mm 316L stainless steel case, driven by a Swiss quartz chronograph movement (Caliber 5021.D). Highlights include original airframe material from the aircraft it honours set into the caseback, a production run limited to 1940 pieces and 50m water resistance. We place it at Hour V (Chronograph) of the Expedition season, for motorsport fans and aviation enthusiasts.
The Supermarine Spitfire is arguably the most iconic and beautiful fighter plane of World War II. An aircraft that will be forever associated with the epic Battle of Britain which raged in the skies over England in 1940. This classic aviator design uses a precision Swiss made chronograph with a Super-LumiNova dial protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. This design is limited to 1940 units in honor of the Battle of Britain, with the case back displaying original airframe material from Spitfire R6753. Pilot JC Pinckney shot down an ME-109 on Aug 29, 1940 while at the controls of R6753.
Trademarks, trade names, aircraft models and company names are used for descriptive purposes only, to identify and describe the actual aircraft artifact incorporated into the watch.
Good to know
It runs on a Swiss quartz chronograph caliber 5021.D, 10 Jewels. Quartz keeps it accurate and low-maintenance; the battery simply needs replacing every few years.
Only splashes. It is rated to 50m (5 ATM), which handles rain and hand-washing, but it is not intended for swimming or submersion.
The case measures 44mm — a bold size that suits larger wrists (roughly 17.5 cm / 6.9 in and up). Our watch size guide (/pages/watch-size-guide) explains how to measure your wrist.
The caseback holds a genuine piece of Spitfire R6753, visible through the back of the case — a direct link to the aircraft the watch honours.
Yes. Production is limited to 1940 pieces, so once the run sells out it will not be repeated.
On the ChronoSeasons dial it sits at Hour V — Chronograph, part of the Expedition season, and suits driving days, flights and timing anything that matters. It also appears in our Pilot & Aviation edit.
Yes. It ships brand-new and boxed from the brand's verified channel, with a 2-year warranty. Unworn watches can be returned within 30 days of delivery.

Love the dual-register layout of the Swiss 5021.D chronograph and the real Spitfire R6753 metal in the caseback. Wears well on my wrist, though the buckle and strap spacing could use an extra micro-adjustment hole for hot afternoons.
Knowing the history of Supermarine Spitfire R6753 in 1940 makes wearing this chronograph special. The 10-jewel Swiss 5021.D sub-registers have a classic RAF instrument layout, the pushers click crisply, and the authentic airframe relic in the back is unforgettable.
The matte black dial and brushed steel case look great in person and feel right at home on my wrist. Already got two compliments on it at dinner.
This is my second Bristol warbird piece, and the Spitfire R6753 tribute is every bit as compelling as my B-25. It runs the 10-jewel Swiss Ronda Caliber 5021.D chronograph inside a 44mm brushed 316L steel case, topped with a flat sapphire crystal. Having genuine Battle of Britain Spitfire R6753 aluminum set into the 1940-piece caseback is incredible. Only note is the brown leather strap was pretty stiff for the first 3-4 days before breaking in.
Welcome back for your second Bristol timepiece, Robert! That thick brown leather strap softens up nicely after a few wears. Enjoy the Spitfire R6753!
I was skeptical about whether an aviation relic watch would feel well-machined, but I can say the 44mm brushed 316L case and sapphire crystal are solid. The shipping carrier delayed the box by two days, though the watch itself is great.
Apologies for the shipping carrier delay to Milwaukee, Dylan! Hearing that the 316L machining passed muster with a machinist means a lot to us.
Wore this out on Long Island Sound and all weekend. The 50m water resistance, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and brushed 316L steel case handle outdoor use without worry, and the high-contrast black RAF-style dial is super legible in bright sun.
Bought the Spitfire R6753 chronograph for my dad's 70th birthday. He has read every book ever written on the Battle of Britain, so seeing a piece of original R6753 Spitfire airframe metal in the 1940-piece caseback left him speechless.
