Yes for swimming. It is rated to 100m (10 ATM), which covers rain, hand-washing and pool or sea swimming. It is not intended for scuba diving, and avoid hot showers and saunas.

Wore it kayaking up near Lake Tahoe and swimming off the dock. The 316L steel bracelet shrugs off water, the screw-down crown seals tight, and the high-contrast hands on the black dial are super clear in bright glare.

Sized the steel Oyster bracelet for weekdays showing properties, then swapped it onto a 20mm royal blue FKM rubber strap for a beach weekend. Both setups suit the black and blue bezel really well.
Wore this for two weeks straight at the office and out with friends on Saturday. Takes a beating without showing scratches on the sapphire bezel, and a coworker already asked what model it was.
Wears well with a button-down shirt in the studio and transitions nicely to client dinners. The polished center links on the Oyster bracelet look sharp, though the date window is a little small for me to read without my reading glasses.
Took this out on the Tennessee River all weekend and rinsed it down after fishing. The 100m water resistance and screw-down crown held up without a hitch, and the lume on the markers is easy to read in the cabin before sunrise.
I travel between New Jersey and our European suppliers pretty often, so having a Seiko NH34A GMT on the wrist is practical. The 40mm case tucks neatly under a French cuff for supplier meetings, and the black and blue Oyster look works with grey or navy suits.

Been wearing this to the office and out to dinner on weekends. The royal blue half of the sapphire bezel pops much better in natural sunlight than in the product photos, and the Oyster bracelet feels great.
Sharp black and blue bezel. Clasp lacks half-links so it runs slightly snug in summer.
