The watch

About this watch

Built around a whitewater sentinel dial, the Ocean Crawler Core Diver - Whitewater Sentinel pairs a 44mm case with a Swiss automatic Sellita SW200-1 movement. Expect 600m water resistance and a sapphire crystal. It belongs to Hour IV, Dive, in our Expedition season: a natural choice for travel days near the water.

Design

The Whitewater Sentinel dial sets the tone, framed by a sapphire unidirectional rotating bezel and set into a 44mm case in 316L stainless steel. At 44mm across, 15.6mm thick and 50mm lug-to-lug, it wears with real presence on the wrist.

Movement

Inside beats a Swiss-made Sellita SW200-1 automatic, running at 28,800 vph with roughly a 40-hour power reserve. It winds itself from the motion of your wrist — no battery, just a mechanical heart that has been individually regulated for accuracy.

In the water

Every Ocean Crawler is pressure-tested in water, and this one is rated to 600 metres (60 ATM). That is genuine capability for recreational and technical scuba diving, freediving and spearfishing. A helium escape valve lets it handle saturation diving and decompression chambers. The unidirectional bezel and bright Super-LumiNova keep elapsed-time tracking clear even in dark water.

Who it’s for

It is made for divers and enthusiasts who want a serious tool watch with genuine depth rating, Swiss-grade mechanics and a design that still turns heads above the surface.

surprised by the quality

Ordering a thousand-dollar watch from a microbrand online made me nervous at first, but the Whitewater Sentinel won me over in five seconds. The solid shark-mesh bracelet, thick sapphire crystal, and crisp brushing on the 316L case are top notch.

Crisp bezel action and tight accuracy

Picked up the Whitewater Sentinel to add a polar-style 600m diver to my collection. The matte white dial against the 4.0mm anti-reflective sapphire gives great depth, and the 120-click sapphire bezel ratchets with a solid, mechanical snap. With the helium escape valve at 9 o'clock and the heavy shark-mesh bracelet, it feels substantial on my wrist. The Sellita SW200-1 caliber is running +3 seconds a day.

Dialed In SW200-1

I have six Swiss divers in my watch box, and the case work on the Whitewater Sentinel holds its own easily. At 44mm by 15.6mm, the downturned lugs hug my wrist without overhang. The 4.0mm AR-coated sapphire crystal and C3 lumed sapphire bezel insert are crystal clear, with zero backplay across all 120 clicks. My Sellita SW200-1 has settled at +1.5 seconds per day on the wrist.

Great graduation gift for my son

Bought this for my son when he graduated college and started his diving charter job. He was blown away by the 600m spec and the bright C3 lume. He did say the watch has some real heft to it that took a couple days to get used to.
