Powered by the Seiko Japanese TMI NH35A automatic movement, the self-winding caliber delivers kinetic reliability powered naturally by everyday motion, complete with manual winding, hacking seconds, and quickset date adjustment. The deep black dial features horizontal wave grooving, applied luminous circular and baton indices, skeletonized broad-arrow hands, a lollipop sweep-seconds hand, and a framed date window at 6 o'clock. Sized the 316L steel bracelet for office days, then swapped it onto a curved-end black FKM rubber strap for beach weekends on Long Island. Rotor has a slight audible whir in a dead-quiet room, which is normal for the NH35A.
A 42mm dive watch with a gloss black wave dial and sapphire bezel dresses up much better than a tool diver with a matte insert. Fits my wrist well and slides under a button-down cuff at the hospital.
I use the unidirectional sapphire bezel on this 42mm diver to time everything from flight legs to grill times on the weekend. The Seiko NH35A automatic is dependable and the horizontal wave pattern on the gloss black dial looks sharp.
