About this watch

Bristol B-25 Mitchell Tribute Chronograph: a black-dial chronograph in a 44mm 316L stainless steel case, driven by a Swiss quartz chronograph movement (Caliber 3540.D). Highlights include original airframe material from the aircraft it honours set into the caseback, a production run limited to 1945 pieces and 50m water resistance. We place it at Hour V (Chronograph) of the Expedition season, for driving days, flights and timing anything that matters.

This classic aviator design uses a precision Swiss made chronograph with a Super-LumiNova dial protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The case back displays original airframe material from North American B-25 Mitchell SN#44-30734. This design is limited to 1945 units in honor of the year of this aircraft's production. The rugged B-25 Mitchell flew for the Allied air forces in every theater of WWII and beyond. It gained fame as the bomber used in the epic April 1942 "Doolittle Raid" to bomb Tokyo in response to the Pearl Harbor attack. This aircraft survives and remains in flying condition to this day. Thanks to the dedication and support of the Delaware Aviation Museum, this B-25 flying under the name "Panchito", can still be seen gracing the skies at airshows around the country.

Questions & answers

What movement powers the Bristol B-25 Mitchell Tribute Chronograph?

Can I swim with the Bristol B-25 Mitchell Tribute Chronograph?

Only splashes. It is rated to 50m (5 ATM), which handles rain and hand-washing, but it is not intended for swimming or submersion.

Will the Bristol B-25 Mitchell Tribute Chronograph fit my wrist?

What is set into the caseback of the Bristol B-25 Mitchell Tribute Chronograph?

The caseback holds a genuine piece of B-25 Mitchell, visible through the back of the case — a direct link to the aircraft the watch honours.

Is the Bristol B-25 Mitchell Tribute Chronograph a limited edition?

Swiss 3540.D 44mm 316L Steel

Checked the case machining and chronograph reset on arrival in Charlottesville. Zero hand drift, crisp pusher actuation on the Swiss 3540.D caliber, and a flat sapphire crystal with minimal glare. Sits squarely on my wrist.

Sharp black leather and steel

Wore this into my cardiology clinic with a charcoal suit and white shirt. The black dial and black leather band give the 44mm steel case a clean, professional look that works well in hospital meetings.

B-25 44mm Black Dial Sapphire

Took this hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The 50m water resistance and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal handled a sudden rainstorm and brush without issue, and the high-contrast black dial is easy to read. The black leather strap was pretty stiff for the first 3-4 days before breaking in.

Great tribute to the B-25

My uncle flew B-25s in the Pacific theater, so I grabbed this black-dial chronograph the moment I saw the airframe relic in the caseback. The Swiss 3540.D pushers have a firm click and the sub-registers are super clear.
