About Chronograph Watches
The measured complication, where a second hand becomes an instrument. Sub-dials, tachymeters, and pushers that reward a certain kind of attention. Movement, timed and understood.
What defines a chronograph
A built-in stopwatch operated by pushers beside the crown, with sub-dials that count elapsed seconds, minutes and hours. Movements range from hand-wound column-wheel calibers to meca-quartz hybrids with a snap-back reset. Hour V of the ChronoSeasons dial, part of the Expedition season.
How to choose
For mechanical theatre, Hemel's hand-wound Seagull ST19 chronographs. For aviation history, Bristol tributes carry original aircraft material on the caseback, several in numbered editions. For motorsport styling, Tissot T-Race and Bersigar Ocular.
